The fire at the Lobohombo nightclub was on the night of October 20, 2000. Lobohombo was an establishment located in the San Rafael neighborhood in Mexico City.
This fire left a balance of 22 dead and 40 wounded. The tragedy stood out because the emergency exits of the place were closed with locks.
For that reason the different ordinances of the Mexican capital in the operation of recreational businesses like bars, discotheques or musical places, changed after the fire to reinforce the measures of eviction in case of emergencies.
In the place where the discotheque existed a fire station was built.
