Monument to Tepito’s Seven Invisible Cabronas

In the heart of the brave neighborhood of Tepito in México City, a modest stone pedestal serves as a tribute to the story of seven women who narrated their life for the production of the documentary The 7 Cabronas E Invisibles de Tepito. Directed by the Catalan Mireia Sallarès, the film is part of the “Obstinate Tepito” curatorial project.

On the pedestal was placed a plaque that says: “To the 7 bastards and invisible of Tepito. Those of before and all that will come. Tepito July 2009 “.

The most outstanding feature of this monument is that no statue was added, since the concept of the work is that any woman whose history reveals her struggle against male domination can rise to the pedestal.
