The Tecuitlapa Crater-Lagoon-Island

Its name comes from the town of San Miguel Tecuitlapa, Puebla, Mexico, just where it is located and is framed by the Citlaltépetl.

Inside the crater there was an eruption that gave rise to another cone just in the center, much like an island. It is a beauty because the light shines in the reflection of the water and is home to trees and wildlife.

The Tecuitlapa crater-lagoon measures approximately 400 meters long and a depth of almost three meters.

Water has a compound that makes it heavy, they call it tequischitis. According to people living a few meters from the aquifer, each year at least 10 centimeters of water is lost
