Saint Placidus (Placitus), is a martyr and Christian saint. Together with St. Eutychius (Euticius), Vitorino and thirty other Christians, have been venerated as martyrs by the Catholic Church. They were martyred by the pirates of Messina or under the orders of the Emperor Diocletian.
The body of San Plácido Mártir is venerated in the chapel of Juicio Final in the Church of the Carmen in Celaya, Guanajuato.
It is one of the most striking corposantos, because it shows extremely deep wounds (especially the neck that almost achieve decapitation), which allow to observe the martyr bones.
San Plácido is highly revered in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, and is considered very miraculous, is therefore one of the few corposantos in Mexico that keep a strong cult and veneration.
