In the western center of the state of San Luis Potosí is the municipality of El Naranjo, whose river of the same name forms several waterfalls, among which is El Salto.
Curiously, the river El Naranjo is named El Salto in Tamaulipas, where it is born in the Sierra Madre Oriental.
El Salto del Agua waterfall is 70 meters high and was in full natural splendor before a nearby hydroelectric power plant was built, which consumed a good part of its flow since the end of the 20th century.
