Órganos Mountain Range

The Sierra de Órganos (Organos Mountain Range) is a group of rock formations in the municipality of Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico.

In the rock formations you can see figures that the people have named: a cup, a bell, the face of an apache, a whale, an eagle, the head of a snake and a tortoise.

They are also erected among stones, cathedrals, towers, castles and even monks that measure about 80 meters, among others; another representative point of the place is the Cueva del Toro.

This place has been used for filming several movies. Anthony Quinn and Gregory Peck filmed there The Cannons of Navarone. Mexican cinema took advantage of this place to film with actors such as María Félix, Pedro Armendáriz, Ignacio López Tarso, Julio Alemán, José Elias Moreno and many more.

It was stage also for international films such as The Caveman in which one of the former members of The Beatles, Ringo Starr, participated.
